Class Activity
03.08.2022
As a part of their class theme, students of class VI D visited the National fisheries Development Board on 3rd August, 2022.
Students found it enlightening to experience and learn about various techniques used in ‘Aquaculture’. One such method was about growing fish in artificial, man-made environments which helped cultivate fish optimally for exporting.
They learn about various species of fish. One such popular fish is Murrel, which is in high demand due to their taste and easy cultivability.
Students witnessed first-hand the advanced technology used for rearing these marine animals. Sophisticated systems such as the Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) and the Biofloc Technology (BFT) help develop conducive environment conditions in the form of nutrient-rich freshwater for these fish to thrive.
At the end of the visit, students left with new-found knowledge and perspective on fisheries and their contribution to the world’s economy.
